"Everything is an argument"
Does anyone know if any famous writers have been quoted as saying "everything is an argument" or something to that effect? I'm looking for a way to open an essay.
Thanks.

I got over 130,000 hits on Google for that phrase. The odds are fair that one of them is a famous writer.

Peter Barry said, "Politics is pervasive," ie anything that is written is political, even if it's not intended to be.

Broke it down to 61,400.
Anyway, I have to disagree with the title.

In arguing too, the parson own'd his skill
For e'en though vanquished, he could argue still;
While words of learned length, and thund'ring sound
Amazed the gazing rustics rang'd around.
- Oliver Goldsmith, The Deserted Village

Lara: Maybe we do.
