That's kind of vague, Chicago's a big city. Could you be more specific?

Unless it's absolutely impossible to do otherwise, move the story to somewhere you know about. Don't make your job harder than it has to be.

Try travel books, they have loads of information. And if this book is serious, think of booking a trip to Chicago sometime.

You got me, I did a google search and those streets are in two different parts of the city and both run east west.
If you want to know about North Chicago, Waukegan, Zion, Lake Forest, Etc.. or anywhere down around Cicero or Wrigley then I can help, other than that I don't know.

HEre's an idea... Visit a web site for a college located in Chicago. (I went for a year to a little place in north chicago now called North Park University, so you could visit their site.)
Note that to woo incoming students, a site like that will have pictures, maps, discussions of "What the neighborhood is like," etc. Might provide enough "non-tourist-spot" info for a story background.
