2 questions.
Okay a part of one of my charecters story lines involves prositution (not her doing it) and divorce (Against her husband, who is using the prostitute)
Question 1:
Is prostitution illeagel in the USA?
Question 2: In the USA, what is the process of getting a divorce?

Taken from Wikipedia
In all but two US states, the buying and selling of sexual services is illegal and usually classified as a misdemeanor. Regulated brothels are legal in several counties of Nevada(see prostitution in Nevada). In Rhode Island, the act of sex for money is not illegal, but street solicitation and operating a brothel are.

Yup, Lisajane is right; Nevada and Rhode Island.

And link is to some information about divorce in the US. I'm not sure how much help it will be, but if you don't find what you're looking for then, the best thing to do would be to call a lawyer and ask your questions to an expert. Myself, I am not likely to be a qualified lawyer for another seven years, and even then not in the US.

I've read the wikipedia page, it confused me.
I want like the steps, and how they work.
Like: Filing for divorce, splitting of money, finalizing it all.

Diego, I believe divorce laws vary from state to state. You may want to zero in on the state where you wish to set the story.

true... divorce laws do differ [widely, in some cases] from state to state... some have only 'no-fault' divorce and others make it hard to get one, if you can't prove infidelity or abuse... same goes for division of assets... some are 'community property' states, where all is split down the middle and others aren't...
you DO have to decide where all this takes place and then do the requisite googling and/or inquire of that state's relevant gov't agency/dept what the laws are... practice is something else again...

You could always get divorced in different states, so you experience it first hand?

I'm not really sure what state it is. It's a fictional state.
Can someone explain the different types of divorces?

To my knowledge there is only one type of divorce which, as said above, differs slightly from state to state. Pick a state that is similar to where your story is takign place and do research on that one's divorce laws.

Okay, it'sa fairly conservative, suburban city. So maybe like Conneticut, or some mid-western state.
