Egyptian Mythology
I'm in the process of writing a story titled "Stealing Egypt." Okay, so it's still a rough idea that I can only describe as "Tomb Raider" meets "The Mummy." Basically what I'm looking for is information on Egyptian Gods (particularly Anubis and Horus) and the pharaohs (the most ruthless and concieted of them). Now I could spend hours searching the internet and reading books but due to lack of time (and laziness) I'm asking anyone if they know of a good website or book that might help me out. Something that gives me more than a measley paragraph or two. Or, if anyone is fluent on this subject go ahead and throw some knowledge my way. I would appreciate it.

I love Egypt, and I'm quite good with it. I'd be happy to help you with your search. I have a three day weekend, so I'm bound to have some time to help.

anything on nefertiti would be of help. there's a lot of controversy surrounding her death. according to my research her mummy still has not been found. so i'm going to make her the immortal bad guy . . . uh, girl . . . in my story.

Nefertiti was married to the pharaoh Amenhotep IV (later Akhenaten). He departed from the ways of his ancestors, who worshipped a collection of gods, in favour of one creator Re. After they had both died - personally not sure how - the people reverted back to the old ways and deconstructed temples in Akhenaten's name, and his name was removed from their history books.
Although Nefertiti was not of Royal Blood, and not very well liked, she was one of the first queens to attain a "prominence verging on a kingly status". Excavations led by Henri Chevrier found portraits of Nefertiti mutilated and stored upside down.
If you wanted to look up books, Cyril Aldred is considered an authority on all things Ancient Egyptian.

There is a book called 'gods of ancient egypt' that details most of the knkown gods, is pretty funny there is a masturbating one. It will have all you need for Gods, Plus I'm sure there is a 'pharaohs of ancient Egypt' as well
its written by Barbara Watterson.
although im a little worried as your story sounds remarkably like one i am working on!

Arkenaten and Nefertiti also changed the way the Egyptians portrayed their art. For the first time, they showed family portraits with Nefertiti being as prominent as Arkenaten. He traveled into the desert looking for a site for his new city. As he now worshipped the Aten(son god) he found a rock formation which was similar to the hieroglyph for the sun. That's why he had the city of Armana built in the middle of the desert. After his death, the city was destroyed and his face removed from his statues.
And here's a weird fact. The face of Nefertiti is still used today by plastic surgeons as the perfect proportions for the female face. She was apparently gorgeous.

First I have to say: yes, stargate is great, but don't believe anything they say about Ancient Egypt, they make it up and lie and change things! Its all wrong!
I would say buy the Oxford History of Ancient Egypt and have a browse. They have a brief explanation of pretty much everything, plus lists of the pharaohs in the back. BUT, if you're story is a serious one that you want published, you'll have to do a lot more research than that, cos Egypt is very different to everything else. Believe me, I have an Egyptology degree and I still don't think I know enough to write an accurate novel. However, if you're doing a story for fun or whatever, then the Oxford History of Ancient Egypt is your answer.
By the way, as a point of interest, Nefertiti faked her own death and assumed a male persona called Smenkhkara so that she could rule as pharaoh after Akhenaten died, but she didn't last long, then Tut came to the throne

Want to know true Egyptian Mythology? Here goes:
One day, there was a cat, the cat was walking through the desert very very tired and thirsty, he arrived at a temple like structure, Kitty im going to call the cat. Anyway, Kitty gave advice and helped move blocks and eventualy constructed an upside down pyramid, but since Kitty didnt know geometry, it lost balance and rolled over with the point towards the sky, thinking this was an omen, Kitty climbed the pyramid and asked out to the sky "Meow meow meow meow meow?", the gods answered turning Kitty to stone, eventualy someone found Kitty and used him as a statue who was worshiped, then everyone lived happily ever after and danced. Except Kitty, who was a statue, and maybe the Arabs. Romans and Chinese and Cherokee and Aztecs came from all the world to see Kitty.
The end!!
Or is it? Dun dun dun
