guys, not all teens talk like that.

there are, on occation, halfway decent teens. I say what the heck all the time. Really, I mean... teens don't always sound like dirt-mouthed idiots.

Go to www.xanga.com and look around. you'll find plenty of examples of all kinds of teens talking.

true soem teens don't swear a lot, but swearing a lot is somehtign people recognize as teen behaviour. Not all hill billies are named Billybob, but people will instantly recognize that he is a hillbillie if he has a name that fits the stereotype.

Actually, stereotypes are what I'm trying to avoid but thanks for the insight anyway

well, it's definitely a huge stereotype for teens to talk that dirty. i know of about 4 teens who talk that way. maybe it's because i'm in higher-level classes, and don't see much of the 'dumb' crowd, but really... if you talk like a sailor people kindof look at you funny.

Of course not all teenagers talk like that all the time or at all. I certainly don't. I curse sometimes, but it's not as if I do it every other word. I simply drew from my experience in suburbia of the Northeastern part of the US. How much people curse obviously varies with where you are.

But Fakespeare, don't equate cursing with stupidity. It's safe to assume everyone in my school (about 1000 kids) curses at some time, and they range from the very dumb to the exceptionally brilliant. And Shakespeare, your namesake, incorporated a fair amount of Elizabethan obscenities into his own work---and he is one of the most ingenious writers of the English language the world has ever seen (in my opinion, and that of many others I'd say). Shakespeare along with billions of other very intelligent people over the centuries, too.

I don't equate cursing with stupidity. David, a kid in my grade who got a perfect score on the math section of his PSAT, curses nonstop. But usually, cursing is a sign of lower classes...

... oddly enough, Shakespeare was a commoner, a member of the lower class. He wasn't royalty, and thus didn't talk like it. THAT's why he cursed. Because the common man did.

But we're talking about teens, not Elizabethans.

I had a bit post all typed up, but the school computer messed up. I can help your script GREATLY because I've been in this exact same situation (without the crash), but instead of rocks, we shot/threw paintballs. I have to go now, but I'll tell you my story in a few hours.

At this stage, I haven't actually started writing the script because I'm in the process of preparing another one I wrote for production. I would however be very appreciative if you could tell me your story. Feel free to PM me if necessary.
