can anyone helpwith my research?
Hello,
I am new to this forum, and hope i have came to the right place!!
Does anyone know of ways in which you can send messages to other people in electronic format, and receive them in writing format? And visa versa?
Similar to SMS, only this sends and receives electronically.
I am doing research for a project at university and i am not quite sure about the best method, if there is one at all!
Any help would be appreciated!
Thankyou.

There are also services like eFax which send a fax online. The recipient can receive it in their email or fax machine.
That's the closest I can think of, sorry.

Thanks for your help, but i was thinking more to do with a system where a person could personally write a message (pen to paper), and it could be sent via *this service......... and would end up to the receiver in electronic format, i.e writing a message, and sending it to the receiver which will end up in SMS format on the persons mobile phone??

Scott -
There is no such technology or service available. For one, I think you are misunderstanding the SMS technology. SMS is short message service that is pecular to only the Wireless Industry (which is now referred to as Text Messaging). Depending upon ones particular wireless carrier and what bandwidth their service provider is on (GSM/CDMA/PCS) depends upon the sms platform this is running on.
However, there are software programs available where you can actually write and have that handwriting show up in like a word document. If someone is running a regular Pocket PC Device (ie Samsung Pocket PC/Audiovox Pocket PC/ Palm Treo handheld devices) these are developed to be used in conjunction with a persons email. This is interdependent upon the persons wireless carrier and what particular plan they have available to use such funcionalities.
In the end, this would be the only way one could accomplish the particular task that you are describing.
In laymens terms, what this means is as follows:
you can get a software program, write out your handwritten note and save it in a word document and then send it via email to the person who may have a pda/smartphone device that allows them to send and receive email.
