Fallen Angels...

The fantasy 'epic' I'm going to be working on has a story where the actions of the main characters are the result of the actions of characters who are basically Fallen Angels who are considered anathema, and based loosely on the Nephilim. So far I've just been calling them by a perversion of the word and have called them 'Neplem'.
It just doesnt sound right...sounds too much like Nephilim.
And I dont want to make up a word...so I was maybe going to base their name on another type of 'angel' or the equivalent from other religions etc.
Any suggestions for me to play around with?

Actually, Sephiroth, a good resource to refer to is the following - The Book of Enoch, the Coptic Version. Do a google search (it is a large text document) and it deals with what you are referring to - fallen angels - and how they came to be, the battle and war in heaven, how they have perverted the ways of the children of men, cohabitated with the daughters of me, etc etc etc.

Also, do some research on the Ugaritic Text, the Canaanite religion and how the Gods battled one with themselves (Greek mythology as well as norse mythology).

Hope that helps you.

I would say the obvious things to look into are 'Paradise lost' and 'Paradise Regained' by John Milton, and the Apocrypha.
