hah. Just realized what kind of a guy this thread makes me sound like.
The bulk of the knowledge regarding guns and the like was picked up during a couple years in special forces in the military.
Now, I'm just a government bureacrat who happens to be a gun nut, as well. Me getting shot earlier this year is just a product of the shit neighborhood I live in.

Bad part of town? that stinks.. My family moved from the city, and now we're living in the middle of no where.. it is almost as scary..
Anyway, glad to see you're still in one piece! That military experience explains a lot. If you have the time, perhaps you could share some stories? Nothing personal, just basics. I wanted to write a story that related with all that stuff, but I didn't know where to start (what else is new!)
Are you from Italy originally? I would never have guessed you were outside the United States if your profile hadn't said so--Your English is perfect. Do speak Italian too? I don't mean to pry, I just can't help but wonder.

As regarding the military experience, I'll think about it and get back to you.
And yes, I lived in Italy from birth to 20-something, and Italian is my native tongue. I'm just good with languages - I speak 5 fluently (Italian, French, English, German, Spanish). Besides, a year on this forum has pushed my English even further into fluency. But thank you, I consider that a compliment of sorts.

That's okay.
Again, you don't have to tell me anything personal--I'm just wondering about the processes of signing up, and getting started, boot camp--that stuff..
But if it's something you'd rather not think about, I understad--don't worry about it--the story isn't that important
