mayhem
so! *rubs hands together expectantly*
are there any resources out there for writers who are really quite good at the writing bits but aren't good at cooking up some mayhem? Ideally what I'd like to find is some kinda database where there are real life situations (and therefore not under copyright from an author) along the lines of....i dunno, construction accidents, specific blow by blow police rescues, etc.
*sigh* ok, here's why i'm called krap phixion. i um..... write batman stuff.....if the typeface went smaller than 1, just imagine it here...... 0.25?
terribly sorry, but there's my dirty secret. at least i strip away all the colorfully constumed villains and bought myself a book on forensics.
so are there any resources for people whose lives are too idyllic and need some disasters to write about? i'd like to buy a crisis, please......

i'm amazed that you'd have to ask!... have you not heard of newspapers, tv news, magazines...and GOOGLE!??
googling for 'police rescues' alone, turned up more than a quarter million hits!

You must be hiding your batfics under your hat. The search engines don't find anyone called krap phixion until you signed up here this weekend.

look under his avatar, nimbus... he did sign up here this weekend!... it's probably a new name just for here... and his batman stuff is probably just fanfics... i don't think his reference to it was intended to sound as if he was a published/produced writer... if he was, he wouldn't be asking how to write his stuff, now would he?...

well, to fill in some bits, yes, i'm bran'-spankin new here. and nope, i absolutely have no interest in publishing. I write purely for my own entertainment, and have posted ONE story online on another board.
I will try that google search. thanks! and I don't have a tv. I just moved out on my own (but I'm quite a lot older than you think---grabby parents who should be in a nursing home kept me there) and haven't gotten around to getting a tv, and don't have a lot of interest in it, although yeah, I know that's a good place to look. i'll have to make myself watch the evening news when I get one. (strangely enough, I also refuse to subscribe to the local newspaper! we have a nickname for it---the st. **** daily mistake.)
and yep, it's fanfics. nothing more than that.
