Ok, I'm working on a new story that involves the American Army. Do they still use m16's as their primary infantry weapon? If not, what do they use? m4?

I'd love it if someone who is in the armed forces had some detailed info on weaponry. Thank you!

As of 2001 the standard rifle of choice for the United States Army was the M16A4, at least that's what we used down in Ft. Benning.
