Jesuits

Does anyone know where one would go to identify the: Father Provincials, Father Visitors, and Father Procurators of Nueva Espana (Mexico) between 1700 and 1767 (the year of their expulsion from the New World)?

Anon 1903
A reckless young lady from Yuma
Had often laughed at the rumor
That Hell is as hot
"What rot! It is not!"
Said she with a fine sense of humor

She finally died of a tumor,
That girl from the desert of Yuma
Said the Devil whose ire was roused,
"Make a fire
That won't do a thing but consume her."

They made up a fire - 'twas a hummer,
From the bones of a wicked old plumber.
As they pushed the girl in
She asked with a grin,
"Do you always have such a cool summer?"

Some that served in the early Mexican Jesuits' missions in Arizona are listed at --
http://www.nps.gov/tuma/Jesuits.html

You can download a free e-book on the subject, "The Jesuits in North America in the Seventeenth Century" by Francis Parkman, at --
http://www.gutenberg.org/etext/6933

A philatelic site briefly touching that subject --

Thank you for the sites. The NPS site does have limited information. The Jesuits in North America in the Seventeenth Century unfortunately is limited to those in Canada. The last gives information on Salvatierra and Kino who are of vital interest to my story (the site was established by Kino after Salvatierra appointed him Father Procurator, i.e., buying agent, for the Order.) Kino was a mathematics professor at Ingolstadt University before becoming a Jesuit. The maps he made read like a mathematics puzzle.

Questions such as this always send me to Google. I don't know if it will help you, but there seems to be plenty there. I typed in:

"jesuits" +Nueva Espana

You can also try reversing the order of the request which sometimes brings up different info.
