Hmmm...What exactly does this mean?
Hi,

This may seem like a stupid question, but could someone tell me what is meant by the saying, "Be there or be square"?

Its just for some dialogue in a story, and I want to know what it properly means before i use it.

SQUARE here is an old slang meaning "old-fashioned" or "unsophisticated."

It's used to encourage others (usually friends) to go to an event.
