This is the first time helping someone with names, so this will be enjoyable....

Well, it depends on the genre, the time period, or perhaps even the storyline. I personally like WriteIt's idea of giving a name that contrast with the character's intention.

You might want to look into www.behindthename.com for names and name meanings. I use it alot.

Personally, if I had to have a straight out "villain" character (someone would probably have to have a gun to my head, haha) I'd name him Gabriel.
