I've started writing a story about a newly discovered alien planet and I was wondering whether there was any stargate archive with infomation about planets they've visited technologies encountered etc.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Stargate archive information, you're refering to the television show, correct? If you are I would recommend checking out the websites associated with that show. You might have to go towards a fan fiction type site, and as it would not be "official" information, it would still be more information you than you currently have.
