Justice
Ok. So, there's all these statues of justice and they usually have a blindfold on them. So, I'm basically asking why they have a blindfold on them.

Uh, I'm not 100% sure why.
But I'm guessing it's because the US government judges everyone fairly, and as equals (or, at least we claim we do...) The blindfold just symbolizes that justice won't lean to one party or the other, based on gender, race, orientation, etc. Because our government is "blind" to factors that would set us apart.
Or, something =D

Yep. Justice is supposedly blind.
But lately she's been peaking.

could just mean it's cold out and her toga is thin, if you get my drift!
seriously...
yes, it's because justice is supposed to be blind to anything that might sway ordinary folks' opinions... it's the only way true justice can be obtained... sadly, those who sit on the bench and in the jury box aren't equipped with both physical and mental blindfolds...

The old idea is that Justice judges everyone equally without predisposition. (Blind Justice)

The NEW idea is that a really good lawyer will take off her blindfold and she will judge you more leniently based on your wealth.

no, the new idea is that the blindfold is so old, she can see through it, and is open to offers!
