Heroin
I need to know some stuff about heroin for a story I'm writing. I know the basics, such as how to do it what it looks like blah... blah...
What I need to know is how does it really feel. Obviously it would be best if I got some advice from somebody who has done heroin... I'd also like to know street cost and any other things a non-heroin user might not know about heroin. Little things would be nice. It's mostly feel though. What does it feel like to be high on heroin (esp. the first time)?

Drugs
I'm not a drug user, but had a family member who did heroine, and other drugs. It puts the family through hell. I guess you need a real heroine user to help you answer some of your questions. Here is a website that might help you with others.

Send the website owners an email, and you might get more information from them. I do this often, and many times I get good results. You have nothing to loose.

Either do some yourself or read Trainspotting by Irvine Welsh.

I wouldn't recommend doing the horse just to get an understanding of it. That's like saying commit murder so that you can write about it. Just interview some people who have been users, or try to find some written accounts by heroin users.

I've been addicted to heroin, and I wouldn't recommend anyone used it, even as a joke. It's like recommending people poke their own eyes out. At the end of the day if you've used it, you know that's not fucking funny.
But Emu, I don't talk about it. Sorry. Don't even bother with a PM. I have a sponsor for that, and that's where is stays.
Good luck though.

I take back what I said, I'm sorry EmuJenkins. I thought you were telling me to take heroin, did not notice it was Drzava telling you to take heroin. I agree no one should tell anybody to take heroine.
Again, forgive me EmuJenkins.

Right Drzava, it was late last night when I posted that, and I assumed without really paying attention that it was Emu who had told me to use heroine.
I'm very sorry to both of you for the careless mistake. After this I will pay careful attention to who posts what.
I was wrong to repeat what you said.

I definately do not recommend telling someone to go and do something like Heroin just to gain an insider's perspective, but to play devil's advocate, you can never truelly describe something to someone without having been there or done it yourself. Like has been said before contact some past users...maybe look up a rehab program in your area....you could even try a doctor that specializes in chemical abuse.

Wow, what replies. I didnt really plan on doing heroin... Im too afriad to even do shrooms. I did read trainspotting and it was good at describing being addict to heroin, but I need like a first time go at it. Or chrystal meth. I might change it to chrystal meth because it is on the rise in small Ontario towns. So anybody done chrystal meth? Or any drugs other than weed?

Emu,
I know what it's like to try to write about something that you haven't actually experienced for yourself - it's difficult but NOT impossible.
As a child, my father gave me various drugs but I don't know for sure which ones they were. I knew someone addicted to heroin once and she took it because it slowed everything down, made her very mellow. According to her, a person would need to keep taking more and more of it in order to achieve the same feelings though.
I was relieved to see that you are not thinking of trying it yourself - drugs are only a temporary escape - reality still awaits you if and when you are straight again.
The idea about contacting a rehab center is excellent. I'm sure there are people in the centers who could really use a friend to talk to and share their story with.
Good luck
Michelle
