arresting a child?
if a child were to set fire to his school, and the school called the police, would he be immediately taken into custody? also would they arrest him right there (handcuffs, miranda warning, etc?) or just bring him down to the station for questioning. also, when they arrested him what would the charge be? arson, vandalism? etc.. thanks!

I think that that would depend on the age of the child and their location. For example, the Miranda rights are U.S.-only. As for whether they would be arrested or not, it would depend on the severity. If they burned down the entire shcool and were stpid enough to hang around, they would be arrested. The charges files would also depends on the amount of damange done
SOrry that I couldn't be more helpful.

believe it or not, in the us little ones as young as 5 have been taken away in handcuffs!... and a 6 year old was tasered...
your question is too broad for a specific answer... but, basically, setting a fire is 'arson' and can also be considered 'vandalism'... charges filed are up to the police and d.a.'s office... all details of how such an act would be handled would depend on the individuals involved, the state laws, local laws, etc...
there are no federal statutes that apply in all circumstances such as this... a result of the separation of powers which is currently in danger of being negated, thanks to the bible-bound right...
