Help needed for essay

Hi, everyone. I’m doing an essay on materialistic thinking, and would like a little bit of help. Do you have any views on the subject? Can money buy happiness? Why do people like collecting items? How much do we really depend on ‘things’? Do any of our values depend on ‘things’? How would our lives be different if we were less materialistic? Please help me out by giving me any thoughts on this subject as soon as possible.

In certain cases, money CAN buy happiness. Watch:

Let's say you are lonely, living by yourself, and want a pet. You go to either a breeder or store, and you find yourself the perfect puppy, kitten, rabbit, ect. You purchase it. It makes you happy.

Now, people may argue this was not you buying happiness, but was you buying an aid to happiness. But I don't think this is true, considering the nature of the purchase. You bought yourself a friend.
