Could someone help me with a heap of information...

I'm writing a piece based around elemental spirits. I am talking about stuff like Undines and Sylphs.
Does anybody know a good Forest Spirit? I can think of only Houri or Peri. I want to use a female one as well.
Also does anyone know a good Fire Spirit. I know of Ifrit or Efreet and Salamander. Does anyone know any other ones?

in fact, if anyone knows any other good Spirits could you please tell me.

Also, does anyone know what those flowers or plants are called that let off those floating white things...I know thats notvery descriptive, but I just dont know what they are called. I think some people call them fairies.
thanks

those ARE dandelions after they have gone into their 'dispersal' mode... the yellow petals drop off and the ethereal flying fluff takes their place, to be wafted off to wherever, by the slightest puff of wind... as a kid, i used to blow them apart... i think it was supposed to grant your wish if you got all the fluff off with one puff...

as for spirits, all you have to do is google and you'll find more than you can use...

A serach for fire god gaveele, Vesta, Hestia, Brigid, Agni, Hephaestos and Vulcan. The nymphs inhabited the forests and I'm sure there are others.

Dandelions do go to seed and produce white fluffy globes of pappus, which is the seed and floret attached. They are low growing, usually in lawns and meadows and have long jagged leaves. the flowers are yellow and plain before they go to seed.

There are many other plants that produce pappus though as a method of dispersing seeds via the wind. Some Alliums do, Cattails produce a thick pack of pappus that look like a corn dog on a stick. When I was young we had a Cottonwood tree in our yard that filled the neighborhood with snowy down every year. If you have a particular plant in mind and have access to it, pick one or take a picture and ask around. A local nursery or florist may be able to help. You could also post the picture here.
