I'm supposing vladimir is a cliche name or something. I was wondering whether or not to use it. How does Marian suit you?

Talia_Brie is an unknown quantity at this point
Your angel can still have white wings if she's been turned into a vampire. An idea might be to have the colour of her wings change gradually as she relents to the vampire nature (the blood drinking etc).

Try reading a couple of the Anita Blake books. The author, Laurell K. Hamilton, has researched vampires extensively and uses all her knowledge in those books. Not to mention they are just amazing novels.

I am surprised that no-one has mentioned Anne Rice's Memnoch.

Someone did mention Interview With The Vampire, but Memnoch includes both Vampires and Angels. Remember that Memnoch, the Devil is Lucifer - or Luke, an archangel cast out of heaven. I suggest reading this to get a few ideas.

Now, if it is a half vampire, half angel you want then there is this premise: an angel either decends from of is cast out of Heaven and

a) is attacked by a vampire and made into one...
b) mates with a vampire and a child is born
c) mates with a human who is made into a vampire or
d) mates with a human whos child is later made into a vampire.

As for the first, it is uncertain whether an Angel would be weak enough to not be able to fend of a vampire, unless he or she was weakened by coming from Heaven and the result of becoming a vampire technically wouldn't make them a half vampire half Angel. They would be a vampiric Angle. Right?

The second brings into question whether or not Angels or Vampires can reproduce in your story. Personally, I most often assume that the more correct way to portay both angels and vampires is as asexual creatures, but this, of course, can be changed to your liking.

The last two have quite a bit of similarity to contemporary stories and movies and, as you said you wanted to distance yourself from being to cliche or sounding too similar to other stories, chosing either of the last two options show difficulties. Still, I think either of these choices offer many options to show an interesting and emotional plot.

On a different note, from what other posters have commented, I liked the idea of a psychic vampire. What about an Angel that must have believers in order to survive? So as to keep him or herself alive, they must prove their existance to humans. As an interesting twist, make it more difficult to do this by making them unable to do many things - make them ghost-like if you will, with little corporeal form...

You could always try reversing the roles. By day, ordinary working stiffs -- by night he's a recovering vampire who's sworn off the habit, and she's an angel of death. He's out there spreading the good news and saving souls in the ol' blood-suckin' community, while she keeps getting assignments to bump off his best candidates (and she likes working with the Grim Reaper's traditional scythe, yet -- messy, and whatta waste of good blood!). Could I see these two ending up in a bar for a little summit meeting? Yeah, that might work.

i have to say that every anne rice book after interview with the vampire is just garbage.

that is just my opinion, though, i know alot of people like them.

i think she should have just stayed with IwtV, and NOT continued the series. I stopped reading at The Body Theif. but my friend read Memnoch... and I read over the part where he gets his eye taken. Just thought it was corny. I dunno.

So I suggest staying away from that. the first IwtV is amazing in my eyes, and if you want to read something that is almost exactly like that, read Lord of the Dead. Seriously. It has a blonde cunning vampire who loves a brunette one and turns him into a vampire, then they have disputes, and there is a little girl.

If she was "Dark" and not so innoccent as I'm thinking gray wings would fit well.
Well... lot has happened. But... Ok so I mean from what you said here there are a lot of attacks happing on villages. So the black/gray wings could make people misjudge her and she could be hated because of it. Vladmir huh I totally agree with Demonic big mistake. Umm still thinking here I will get back to you with other things just got to brainstorm some more. This story intriques me so I would like to see it done and I am trying to help it start anyway I can .

Sorry I ran off, I was on a trip to the library. I was angry that my school only had one copy of Dracula(accursed middle school librarys!) and it was out, so I held it in reserves. And at the library I was hoping to find a copy of Dracula, but that is held at the library of another county, lucky me. But I did fine Interveiw With a Vampire, so I picked that up. They didn't seem to have any other Anne Rice books I felt like reading, of coarse interveiw with a vampire is big enough for me currently. That and I randomly picked up a Jules Verne book I haven't read, since my school library only cares 3. so i'm hoping to get my hands on dracula soon, and I should get the vampire encyclopedia by tomorrow or something. Any ideas yet tyson?

Which Jules Verne?

I went on a bit of a Jules Verne reading spree recently and finished TTLUTS and JTTCOTE (sorry, couldn't resist the acronyms).

For some mental stimulation, here is the lyrics to a fave gothic song.
It by My Dying Bride, off their Like Gods of the Sun album.

It is called "A Kiss To Remember"

Open me
And drink up my scarlet
Kiss me deep
Kiss me deep and love me forever more
Bloody love
Bloody love inside of you
Swallow me
Thank God, there's nothing I can do

Come with me my friend, come and see the end
And let me swallow up your pain
Leave the village lights, step into the night
Open your mouth to my bloody rain
And at your second birth, we will slay the earth
And stalk mankind 'til Heaven burns
Just lay down for me, naked for me to see
It's just one kiss, that's all I need

Take me down
Down to the bloody shore
Dig me deep, dig me deep
And leave me forever more
Lay me down
Down with all of them
And forget me
Like you forgot the rest of them

I've read, so far, a jounry to the centere of earth, 20,000 leages under the sea, and around the world in 80 days. I picked up, I beleive its called, "mysterious Island" or something. I really want to read to the moon and back but they don't have it in my county library. I'm obsessed with jules verne, lol. I have no idea why but I just love his writting. And BTW those lyrics are cool. I'd list some of mine but there not too gothicy. Most of it's Depeche mode stuff. I'm only now getting into "darker" music. hee hee hee
