supernatural creatures

i have never posted in here before, so i dont really know if this can count for research, but hey.
i love the supernatural stuff, i think its amazing, and all my friends say im crazy to believe in it. but that doesnt matter, i am writing a story that includes fantasy creatures and i cant find any good creatures.
so far i have a mermaid and a werewolf, but i need more, and all the ones i have looked up arent what i wont... i dont mean like unicorns and stuff like that...
but anyway can anyone suggest some good fantasy creatures that i could use in my story?

why not create some of your own? I do, and find it quite enjoyable.

Here are a few others not mentioned to tire you over for now:

Gremlin
Sprite
Whisp
Wraith
Troll
Kobald
Wererat
Kraken
Gollum (not the character from LOTR)
Elemental
Drow
Pixie
Bugbear
Siren
Pocket Dragon
Gnoll
Titan
Goblin
Hobgoblin
Cockathrice
Leviathan
Gargoyle
Salamander
Basilisk
Viper
Chimera
Springheel Jack
Valkyrie
Beholder
Sphinx
Cyclops
Shapeshifter

There are a million others, but hopefully between that list and the previous one, it should be enough to stave your thirst...at least for now lol

I think you're talking about a golem. Usually composed of rocks, dirt, or some element.

Oh, and some of those that you mentioned, such as the Drow, are copyrighted- mostly by TSR

i like fantasy creatures , i'd ention some but I dont know what has been mentoned and I dont feel like reading and seeing. as for golems they are just any element, the whole rock thing is a generalized statement and it all just depends on what you want.

yea, brain doesn't think well and fingers don't type well at 4 am (Thanks bobo ) lol sorry bout the spelling. As for the registered ones, I put them in for reference sake, something to look at to get an idea of directions to head in when creating your own ideas.

As for religious context, Golems have a mention in the Jewish religion, so not all fantasy creatures are "heresy and blasphemous". There is also mention of others in the bible as well as other religious texts.

Try looking at Norse or Egyptian mythology...change the names a little, and add some of your own ideas to them...usually gives me some pretty good characters.
