Parodies. If I write a parody, how can I possibly publish that? Coz u make fun of another book. :S Any ideas?

I don't see any complications. Just publish it like you would any other book. There are all sorts of parodies out there, though not necessarily in literary form. It doesn't really make any difference. I would say as long as it is done tastefully and you aren't infringing on any copyright laws, there shouldn't be too much of a problem.

To be perfectly specific, all parody is protected under copyright law and you cannot be sued or prosecuted in any way for making fun of someone else's work. It falls under the 'free usage' clause that defines how a copyrighted work can be used by the public.

And just to assure you further, literary parody does have considerable precedence. A friend in highschool once showed me a book called 'Bored of the Rings'. I found Gandalf's battle against the Ballhog to be most amusing (just picture a giant winged demon in shorts and tennis shoes holding a basketball).

This certainly applies in most countries, but bear in mind that the rules do differ from nation to nation. As far as the US and UK are concerned Ozmandius is right, but the original poster was in Holland, and I have no idea of the how the law stands there.

My guess is that it would probably be similar in Holland, but if you're not sure it's definitely worth checking first.

Thanks for catching me on that Spud. Forgot that I was on an international forum there for a minute. I'm actually rather embarassed.
