A Moment
There was a moment
when I looked in your eyes
that my perception changed
the stars shifted their course
so that the night became brighter
the summers longer
the world kind,
So I left my torment
that stale quagmire of lies
my complacency had arranged
to hide my remorse
and make my lies whiter
the illusion stronger
my eyes blind,
And chose that engagement
that gave my life ties
to what was once estranged
which your will did enforce
to make our lives righter
our separation wronger
to love find.
