The brief flickers of fireflies
stand brilliant in comparison
to total darkness

How self-conscious would you be
if there were no mirrors?

Is there somebody watching me?

A murky cave
seems quite the same
as home

The friends around me
never have I known...

Is somebody teasing me?

Reading by candlelight --
rubbing the pages gently
Visualize the unknown...

Misunderstand
my vacant stare

Is there anybody there?

Not too keen on the Yoda-speak in the fifth stanza. Apart from that, a good poem.
