Romancing The Night
As the moon takes over the day,
The fragrance of night envelopes the city
With hues of indigo, purple and eventually black.
It washes away remnants of life giving power and love
The solar maiden bestows down in her time of domain.
With the guiding light of the stars
Tranquility seeps into the darkest
Niches and corners and in the time
Of twilight the lunar rays dance upon
Reflective surfaces, gather in pools of
Liquid, and stream down the streets
With urgency and graceful fluidity.
Cast into the world of dark by the
Absent sun the night adorningly sends
Her guard to watch over her kingdom,
And as the moon ascends into the
Heavenly expanse of the sky. She
Gazes down on her world of slumber
While eyeing the glow on the horizon
Creep closer and closer.
