I don't have any criticisms, I like it. The only thing I would say, is that you could have included a bit more carnival and bigged it up a bit more, however, the smaller, local yocal thing works really well.

Definitly the best thing on the Hootenanny, the rest didn't stir me at all, but I wasn't legless as I had to drive daughter and friends around the country side. The old tunes are the best, when they have a bit of life in them, there were plenty of old tunes, the others just made them sound dated, he stirred the blood a bit.

Thanks Mermaid. I considered making it longer but kept getting tied up in circles saying the same things. Just wanted to throw out a snapshot of moments from the party. Glad you enjoyed it and thanks for reading
Jack

This really brings to mind a pub with one of those awful English country and western bands. Not my favourite scenario. If Englishmen want to play folk then they should play Celtic folk. Good poem non-the-less.

Out of touch Baron, Seasick Steve and his threestring are truly awesome. There must be a UTube clip from Jules Holland's Hootenanny New years eve on the BBC. Sorry i haven't the skill to give you the link.

I like this quirky little impression of a weird party.

Weird is right, they record it in mid December because no-one wants to work New Years Eve, then pretend it's the real thing in every detail right down to the clock striking midnight, it's probably mid afternoon. By the way I just clicked your name is Vangogh's ear, I had always read it as Vangogh sear and thought "What, where they cauterised it?"

The cut off ear is a myth anyway, Olly. It was just a pice of the lobe. People always assume otherwise because of the self portrait where he has the whole left side of his head bandaged. Overkill.

It's a carryover from a guitar forum I go to, I wanted to use vangoghsear for music, but it was too long, so I shortened it to what I use here.
MisterJack, I checked out Seasick Steve, that guy's some entertainer.

I keep getting images of a spider tavern. Very vibrant. Lurid as well.

Sounds like fun. Looks like fun. I think I'm a little woozy and legless. Good poem. I enjoyed it.
