not sure about the "volunteer" bit ...
I think that the judges should be suckered ... er, coerced ...
um, invited ... yes, invited, to participate ...
after they've been carefully screened ... bribed ...
or otherwise beaten into submission ...
politely, of course ...

I do know that Baron wanted to try it like an LM - then everyone went barreling off into the next challenge.
IF everyone wants to try this like an LM here is what I propose:
What YOU will do:
1. About four poets need to volunteer to judge the competition. Your work, if submitted, will not be scored though judges can comment.
2. Baron will go to The LM Adjudication Scoring Sheet and see if you want to use it as is or re-do it a bit to make it specific to poetry. Keep it simple, I wouldn't change the system or add too many more points to judge on. Many entries can take a long time to judge as it is.
3. Baron will PM the resulting scoring sheet to another poet to make any changes. Agree quickly. Your judges need access to it by Thursday.
4. Give me the scoring sheet to post.
What I will do:
1. Move all the new entries in so far to their own new string.
2. Post the poetry scoring sheet for the judges or PM it to them...Baron will tell me which way he'd rather do it.
3. Take all the scores from your judges, tabulate them, and post them in a separate Scores thread.
4. Congratulate everyone.
***
This way everyone gets comments from each judge on their work.
IS this what you guys want to do? If so, say now or forever hold your peace. Step up and volunteer to judge!
If the response is overall positive I'll have the new poetry challenge string up with the entries moved into it by the end of the day.

I wouldn't mind being a judge-type character. Writing poems for contests is stressful. I prefer to watch, and crush contestants with a swift and mighty hand.

Well, I'll just hold off on opening up the stadium then because if there are no refs there is no game.

Booo, fans break down barriers, pitch invasion.
To be honest, foxee, I don't think I am qualified to judge, that's the only reason I haven't volunteered.

LOL. No.
This isn't my project. I have my own. I'll gladly do the thread straightening and vote tallying if there is a contest.
If there isn't a contest I'll work on my projects. No biggie.
Besides which how MANY times have I written that disclaimer that I'm not a poet?
Hang in...maybe Baron will draft a few judges when he wanders into the forum.
