Two Crazies

I laugh star-storms
enlightening my belly.
Rocket boost up through white
Red
Blue.

And then lyrics:

Peaks and valleys
caverns
caves

secret hideaways
carved out with maze-haste.

Outside one's mind every utterance is blah:
nothing important
meaningful;
speech as a barren highway.

I walk along on the side of the road
hammering traffic signs
depicting vehicles
sketched from
collective-conscious-press bylines.

You come along.
I'm hiding behind a bush.
You're pushing a shopping cart but I sight you in a Porsche.

I "arise" from nature and demand to see your papers.

You call me a devil
then ask for spare change.

really well written. I like the subject matter, it reminds me of home sweet home LA.

may i inquire as to its inspiration?

i particularly like the "blah"...very unique and fitting for the subject.

MBH,

Thank you for your comment! May I ask what it was about the poem that reminded you of LA (Louisiana? Or Los Angeles?)?

The poem was inspired by a feeling of satisfaction--the cessation of hunger, the attainment of well-being; the contentment of following one's will.

From there I was inspired to follow the fleeting satisfaction to the inevitable irritation, and the ills that usually arise from abstract communication (language) and culture.

The crazies try so hard to prove their sanity--cursing those that challenge their worldview while begging for an outfit more flattering then a cart.

Glad you liked the "blah", I was happy with it too

Thanks again.

it reminds me of Los Angeles, all the people i run into on the streets, waiting for buses or subway trains...all the conversations ive had with them.

this sums it up very nicely...and ive always had a special place in my heart for the "crazies", as they are usualyl harmless if you give them the time of day and dont just brush them off or act rudely. there is something very human and raw about them, although they seem off-kilter to most of us.

ive related to many "street-people", in their distaste for capitalism and the system which often has led them to stay on the streets.

so anyway, i liked this a bunch.
