When you punch someone and it doesn't hit, don't stop. Punch them again, or else they might punch you.
What I am trying to say is QUANTIFY!
Which means, quantity pwns the shit outta quality.

so to attack a poem or a post is terrible
to attack a human being with as much violence as words can convey
is okay
and we wonder why violence occurs.
The fact you support nineteen's outburst says as much about you as it does nineteen and so this thread that should never have been put up falls into a tirade that you support - but let me guess - only tongue in cheek....

wow dannyboy. You really are just the eternal hall monitor, eh?
nope. it wasn't tongue in cheek. it was, literally, "leave it to a scottsman to say it how it is". I'm not allowed to say that, either? Dannyboy, you will certainly have to forward me the "things that are ok to say in a forum with dannyboy" guide. I have evidently misplaced mine.
I know several scots, and they are all brutal in their honesty and do not hold back on their opinions. If I, myself felt the same way,I would have used the language myself. But I didn't....at any point. Actually, I have not uttered a single negative word to you or any other writer on this site. So it has nothing to do with supporting a tirade. I do believe, though, that each person has their own way of expressing themselves. And dannyboy expressed himself, well, like a scotsman.
Not only that, but he expressed himself like a teenager. If you look at nineteens profile you will probably notice that he is STILL in high school. Yet your profile lists you as a teacher. Would you have this sort of "conversation" with a student? No. Probably not.
I don't care either way if you "attack" my poems or posts. I'm just surprised and curious as to why a grown adult would attack anything. It seems to me that you spend an awful lot of time going from post to post, scolding others. THAT is what I find amusing, and a little exhausting.
So, as far as nineteen goes, I really don't care one way or another what he says. I have a soft spot for the Scotish because my father is scotish, as wells as one of my best friends. And I really do not feel the need to have to explain myself, or my actions, or my words every few hours. And with that, I'm finished.

I thought is post was flaming. If not it was perilously close to it.
We agreed not to do that when we joined WF.
Might have been a bit abrupt but not unwarrented.

It was flaming and flaming is not tolerated here. Simple.
J.R. - Thanks for the scolding. But I'll say it again. I was hardly whining. Had I posted 10 consecutive posts about nobody responding to my poetry, then ok, I'd be whining. I have every intention of posting again. And again. And again. I've lost no sleep over the lack of comments. I was merely curious. NOT a big deal.
You are welcome, though twas just an admonishment. Scolding's up another few notches.
Just a semantic point: Whining is whining, like the colour red is red. Something doesn't have to be red over and over again to be red.

just a final, rather tired point.
i am not here as a treacher
I do not take on a mentoring role
I am here as a writer
I treat everyone here as a writer
age does not enter into it.
I could not careless your age, nineteen's age or whatever. I look at the poem or the thread and I respond to that.

ok. this really is the last and final time I delve into this conversation.
J.R. - emotions, feelings, and intentions carry a tad more depth than a color does. And not to get too overly philosophical, but colors have different shades. If you choose to interpret my statements as whining, then that's fine. You cannot, however, tell me how I intended it.
Danny Boy - I agree, a writer is a writer, but not all writers are as experienced as you are. And not all are as thick skinned. Call me a hippy, but I believe in respect first and foremost. I truly apologize for any unkind comments I left over the past 24 hours. I was just angry, and I have, in the past, been known to jump the gun and be hurtful when my feelings are hurt.
This conversation is trivial, tired and nonsensical. It's over. I'm not beating the proverbial dead horse any longer. I am a good writer. I know this. The reason I am here is because I appreciate the work and constructive criticism of other writers. I am not here for petty goings on. So I will not partake in any further pettiness.
I think you are a gifted writer, and I also think you have a lot to offer as far as experience goes. I will not deny you that. But I think perhaps we need to come to an understanding. I can be sensitive, and you can be harsh. It's just the way we are. If we can get past the last 24 hours or so, I believe we may just have a lot to offer one another.
And with that, I'm done.
Happy writing.

I assure you i have nothing to get oast. I will take all your work at face value and respond to the poem - every poem, regardless of who posts it.
Look forward to seeing more of your work.
