Nihilism (any critique is welcome and encouraged)

Note: I am not a technical nihilist, but I am going through a period where I don't know what is true anymore. Thus, I give you this:

There is no rhyme or reason, no method to the madness,
No riding the train without being pulled along the tracks,
No relaxing in the car, no drinking in the bar,
No collecting pennies in a cataract jar,
There is only the rift between god and his creation,
No mission for existence, history is but a fiction,
The food is not delicious, only a sensory labyrinth,
Cavernous, eat ravenous, ‘till the juice runs down your nose,
And when your face finally glows from the intake,
You will realize that the folly of belief is just another mistake.

One too many times I have been deceived into believing,
That happiness is just another gift that you receive,
I finally realize that you have to work hard,
To win your space in the bartering queue to attain just what you want,
When you finally get there, what time is left?
When you fell asleep at the wheel, death slowly crept up.

Nihilist perhaps, but it is the way of the world,
A product of the times, disturbed as they are,
As one grows older belief becomes more and more depressed,
Like the beaten, traumatized child that time just loves to molest.

Tarantula is on a distinguished road
Nice imagery. I enjoyed this piece. I thought the first verse was the best. I thought lines two and three were really good, they kind of stuck with me. I also thought that it flowed really well.

Thanks a lot Tarantula. By the way, I know the song from you Quote, but the name of it is escaping me at the moment (and driving me nuts in the process). What song is it?

EDIT: Googled it. Turned out to be Modest Mouse. Great song, great quote.
