Overheard Conversation
I read this to a classroom of senior year jocks...yeah I think the irony was lost on them.
Thoughts of your own
When someone rips through them
Pulls the zipper on your head
Drops something in
You really didn't want to know
You try to get it out,
But the space is already closed
It's too late, information intake
"Oh my Gawd! He did what?"
Yeah, he did that
And you didn't have to tell me
Or the rest of the world
What color your underpants are
Or that you totaled your mom's car
After the party last night
Where Steve turned out the light
And did something that might
Be inappropriate to write
In this poem
But that sure didn't stop you
Showin' your feathers off
Like a naked peacock
Here's a little secret
No one wants to know
Oh! I didn't know you were listening
