The Poison

The Poison

The lion who sleeps
within each one of us
is a confusing beast

The tightrope we crawl
above heaven and hell
daylight, a beautiful yawn

the voices underneath
evil vs. good
colorful yet scattered

sip the poison, from the poison stream
then we float
silently, inside our own scream

These voices, one
keep this man above
and moving along

FoggyImagination is an unknown quantity at this point
I like the way this sounds and I really like

But I'm not sure I'm totally following the meaning. The first stanza is great as well.

What I get from this is the lion... makes me think of the anger, or fierceness or wildness inside everyone... I like the visual of walking the tightrope between heaven and hell but I'm lost as to the meaning of

daylight, a beautiful yawn
The third stanza is ok... I think I'd rather see versus rather than vrs. though. I'm thinking its all the influences? All the different people from different place that interact and impact you as a person?
The last stanza... meaning the voice you choose to listen to... and the hope that you chose correctly??

I may be totally off. This intrigues me but I'm struggling for the meaning.

I pretty much agree with that,I don't really know what your trying to say with this poem, but somehow I like it anyway. You create some really interesting images.
