Like an Autumn leaf

Note: I know i haven't posted here for a long time but ive been busy with my exams, planning my novel and spending the last few days of secondary school life with my friends. Anyway, here is a short poem that reflects what has been happening in my society that i live in. I hope i haven't lost the little talent i had for writing poetry. Enjoy and it's nice to be back.

Like an Autumn leaf

She stood amongst the sleeping graves
her eyes fixed on her sons tombstone.
As she stood there lost in her grief,
she caught an autumn leaf falling,
slowly drifting towards the ground,
colored brown and riddled with holes
like the body of her dead child.

Dedicated to all the mothers who have lost there children to gun crime.
