Mother Nature’s Balancing Act
just a minor tweak... less than a hint of how strongly i actually feel about the subject... hope it makes some think...
Mother Nature’s Balancing Act
First mad cows and now bird flu
when will they learn the evil men do
lives after them,
their bones interred with their victims, who
they boil, broil, bake, and barbeque?
No good comes from killing things
that live like them, though having wings
or hooves and horns
or fins and such, but from mother springs,
as do they all, from slaves to kings.
Something eating of its own,
slaying the children that it’s grown,
to dine on their
flesh, use their skin, feathers, fur and bone,
one day may find itself all alone.

Mama! Hey, you're back! And well done again. As a pesco lacto ovo vegetarian for many years, you're preaching to the choir (abeit way in the back row). The relationship between dis-ease and the humanity's rapacious bullying of the Earth becomes more obvious every day. I wonder if even a pandemic or two will be enough to make the simple insight you write about common knowledge? Look forward to your next posting. cheers

thanks, smalls...
as for the hamsters, if that's true, my reply is a resounding, 'yup!'... i have nothing but the greatest contempt for any creative power that would design creatures with a built-in need to kill each other... and i've written about that at some length...
