Trailers for Sale or Rent?

Four hundred million dollars worth of trailers in the mud,
they’re parked in Arkansas for the victims of the flood.
Nobody can use them there, that’s just a storage lot,
so, just who are they stored for? Is someone smoking pot?

The more it rains the deeper they go into the ground,
and in Arkansas it rains every time you turn around.
Now FEMA’s spending millions more to buy a bunch of jacks,
‘cause the trailers have sat so long no one will take them back.

Oh, by the way FEMA’s also spending millions more
for the old abandoned airstrip where they have the trailers stored.
They think that eventually they’ll sell them all for scrap,
to me this whole mess seems like some bureaucratic crap.

They’ve sat in the mud so long that now their frames are bent,
so they can’t pass inspection no matter how much money’s spent.
Ten thousand mobile homes with no place to go,
why did FEMA buy them? I guess it’s just for show.

Penelope is an unknown quantity at this point
I saw something about this on the news. I don't think it could have been written better than this either. Nice job.
