A Eulogy for Coretta
Coretta we’ll sure miss you, and the world won’t be the same,
Martin tried to show the way, you were eternal flame.
After Martin left us you were there to carry on,
and still took time to raise two daughters and two sons.
The courage that you showed was well beyond belief,
your goal was never hampered by your sorrow or your grief.
Peace and human dignity, and equality for all,
even through adversity you were always standing tall.
Yours was the voice of reason in a world that didn’t care,
but your perseverance found supporters everywhere.
And now that you are headed for celestial reward,
I can’t help but wonder who will pick up your sword.

Nice Psycho. Sorry I missed this earlier. I once had a chance to read MLK's 'I had a dream' speech to an audience. I have since been deeply inspired and touched by his greatness of spirit. It's a cliche that behind every great man there's a woman. In this case Coretta King's vast dignity speaks for itself. The U.S.A. badly needs someone to pick up 'pick up the sword' for everyone, to renew the spiritual greatness that somehow finds a way to make meaningful change in a peaceful way. cheers.

Nice tribute poem for a woman of greatness - or rather a normal woamn who showed us how anyone can be great. Just reach for the best part of us & be true to it.
I think you're heading for the position of life recorder for WF - you bring us records of events & lives to think over.
Couple of places my read stumbled through beat mismatches...
Quote:

Martin tried to show the way, you were the eternal flame.
|
...seems to have a beat too many in the 2nd half - maybe take out the 'the'?
Quote:
|
And now that you are headed for your celestial reward,
|
...also has an extra beat - prehaps leaave out 'your'?
