Recycle the Theory

I can theorize about spring
or love
and the strange shapes
the cracks in plaster make.
but it’s been said
so many times that
the challenge is no longer the content
but the context and the careful syntax:
when a word can change
Everything.

maybe poetry is just another
form of robbery.
but I prefer to
recycle.
it sounds
nicer.

As a general rule
Prosey poems about poetry
don't go over
very well.

Oh, I don't know. These cracks right here, have never been written about before, and certainly not by me. The ending did make me smile, though JB has a point. If you were showing us your meaning with shifts in your words, then poem would be deeper, more compelling. cheers.

re: Theories and such.

Hello mostly,
Theorize on! Ponder the imponderables of this and that, here and there. Look inward. Scan the horizon. See if you can manage to do both at the same time. (That would be a neat trick!)

Even if it has all been worked out by someone, somewhere, at some other point in time and space, it's brand new to you. Keep at it. Whatever it is. You can't help but discover a new wrinkle, or at the very least, capture a poetic snapshot of some old wrinkle from a new angle. Remember; "Even word gristle is mentally tasty when you hunger to write." wordwaymike
