Emotional Abuse

The blood drips
from the wrist of my heart.
Wobling to stand,
I'm so confused, where to start?
You slashed my mind,
wounded my heart,
and bruised my soul.
Anything of value,
such as my trust,
my pride,
you stole.
You kicked me
while I was down,
then left me to die.
Left lying in a puddle
of my soul's blood,
with no energy to cry.

I tried to heal myself,
but failed everytime.
I wanted to end the hurt,
but I couldn't say goodbye.
Long nights of confusion
and hurt, feeling so lost.
I want to keep your love,
but I cannot afford the cost.
Stuck in this arena,
I haven't the heart to leave.
Everytime I want your comfort,
I'll have to hurt a little, bleed.

Insanity taking over,
you aren't who I thought.
The pain is eating away at me,
my heart's begining to rot.
Laying on my bed,
starring at these four
walls again.
I am slowly dying on the inside,
and when I do,
this abuse will all finally end.

Spaz: You and your writing seem to be caught in a rut of this one painful theme. I suggest you go out every day and write a poem about something else, long or short. A tree, a river, a building, your own fingertips, other people, all these things are perfectly good material for a writer of your talents. As it is, you seem to be in love with your own pain and 'tragedy' and it's going nowhere. cheers j.r.

I agree that the whole depressing thing is getting old fast. I have a difficult time writing about things I can't easily relate to, which is one of my many flaws as a writer. I need to learn how to put emotions into poems, even when I'm not feeling them.

I'm working on it! <3

Cool. I think it begins with attention, simply giving your full, relaxed, undivided attention to what you've decided to write about. The object will provide the emotions and words, though very subtly at first. Try it!
