You know he can’t take Jokes
He rules from high above
Not like us common blokes

But then you know it’s queer
A joke is just a joke
If you have naught to fear
Or panic to invoke?

I can say this as man
Who takes jokes on the chin

I can’t resist the pun; to me it’s just for fun
My god I hope he laughs with me
Or should I learn to run?
With others is it written, jokers to be smitten?
Their god then must love to fight
While mine is just a kitten
My pen as my ID Nae; should I stop to pray?
That others don’t reflect on this
To chase my verse away

Vodka brightens up my day
Though Brandy is my tipple
How my joke would get away
Hardly cause a ripple

There’s no sin in tasting life
I laugh when times are hard
But others are so full of self
It puts you on your guard

So who would be above a joke?
There’s “some” it sets alight
To stand or shout for any cause?
