why?

Can anyone tell me why, when a work is posted here, even though it is read, there are no comments or reviews on it? This is very disheartening and makes belonging to this site fruitless. I rarely get a review but I do get reads. Eveything I have posted has been in competitions and have won ribbons and acclaims in many differnt areas.
I am frustrated and curious. If anyone has an answer tothis, please post and enlighten me.
Thanks,
Carly

I used to wonder similar things on other forums when I was new to posting. For the most part, people may read and even like your post, but may not feel the need, desire, or comfort level, enough to post on it. It's sad, and people would be helping if they could post something helpful, but there are a lot of reasons why people don't....and the real trick is not to take it personal. I know I read one of your pieces once, and I liked it okay, but I couldn't for the life of me think about what I could post, so I didn't. It had nothing to do with you personally, but my lack of ability to define what I was thinking.

So, I understand your frustration and agree with it too, but it's a part of internet forum life, and will probably never really change. I've got several poems I've written on here that have no posts, and I thought they were really good...so I wanted to hear feedback, but I didn't. After the quick and slight sting, I'm okay. Sorry you are upset though....please don't let it effect you posting here.

J.R. MacLean is on a distinguished road
Can't tell you why but I've suffered the same experience. Have to put it down to one of those things that's out of our control, like the weather. My personal rule is if I'm going to visit a posting and manage to read the whole damn thing, I'm going to say SOMETHING about it, monosyllabic or not.
I have heard your sign-off before:
Sitting quietly
doing nothing
Spring comes
and the grass grows by itself.
