The Immortal Flower
The Immortal Flower
Thou art the most beautiful one of them all
Standing alone so strong and tall
You reflect the sun so brilliantly, catching the pickers eye
For you are the most unique one, rising into the sky
Flaunting colors of the most magnificent hue
Leaving all the rest, wishing to be like you
And all the others
Drenched in their exotic colors
For they can not understand the beauty you behold
For you capture the onlooker, in an inescapable hold
So stand strong to the end
Unbending in the fierce wind
For winter may come like a blithe
Seeking to steal your very life
But rise again you shall
When winter comes to an end
For spring is almost here now
Then we shall live to the very end
How sweet thy gentle wind
For summers here but soon at an end
And when that warm summer breeze blows briskly about
Carrying the ashes of the once living about
Sprouting new life here and there and all about
For when that winter chill, breaks through the warm summers sun
Tiss the end of life’s circle, and the beginning of another one
