The Devil Can't Write No Love Song

Originally written as a song, the tune suddenly disapeared from my mind one night and since then I haven't been able to replicate the sound I had originally intended for it. So now it reads more like a poem than an actual song. Thought I'd just throw it out there.

The devil can't write no love song
'cause the devil don't know what love is
he said that he loved the one up above
but he wanted more than he would give.

The devil can't write no love song
'cause the devil ain't never cried
he spurs on the suffering, the pain, and the death
and it never brings tears to his eyes.

The devil can't write no love song
'cause he's scared of you and I
he knows that the suffering, the pain, and the death
are broken with the match of our eyes.

The devil may not write a love song
but that doesn't mean that I can't too
I widdle and I craft, silently awake
working the perfect love song for you.
