Poetry is Spirit

Without purpose, poem
Number 17 halts.
Still birth stirs.
Essence, untold songs
Create machines of
dusty antique rust.

Poetry is spirit
Life before life
suffered to hear it.

Without purpose, poem
number infinite
fails before it's start,
futile pain, to the heart.

I write this saying that writing just to practice writing is hard, and I've struggled this with my work. My fiction seems barren and retold at times. I'm using poetry as creative platfrom for emotive imaginery and building my skills onward to long fiction. Stories are alive when there is a long suffering meaning or purpose behind them. Some gain popularity of the non-existence of purpose also, but I remember brilliantly alive stories and poetry when some of my writing struggles re-surface. I use the word futile, because I still go on writing. I wrote this message as not to discourage anyone and to clarify my message.

Yea same here.
For the last few weeks I've been trying ridiculously hard under the surface to write a poem. Not just any poem though, it's the poem that every writer at some stage, knows he or she can write, is on the tip of their tongue, and finds it incredibly hard to stick to.
It's like I want to write this piece, I know what it's about, but every time I start it, I change the topic by the end it's nothing like what I wanted it to be.

Ok done ranting :p
But simply, I agree completely, Poetry is Spirt
Hmmm... Perhaps I should focus on that one moment and just type
Thanks mN

Mm,I carefully read about what you replied in your post in which said it's the few weeks what what you have been trying ...and many others in it. It seemed that I also had same feelings sometimes. Yet to write is all what i thought that i should do . However,it's easy to say. At least, I don't know how to write at present even I am about to type any lines. It's really same ridiculous.
Regards,Bluewhite.

I'm glad to hear others challenging themselves so fiercely like myself. Thank you bluewhite and shinyui for the responses. This poem stands for some great things in my life. I'm happy other writers feel the same too.
