Video Clip

In time, he would
lie there beside her –
watching the land curve
while clouds form a frame
revolving behind her
canvas of freckles,
smoke to a flame

She narrows her eyes
in the early light,
scanning the sand of her
eastern horizon for
footprints, disturbance,
a hint of some
flesh to her dreams

Only her camera
inhaling the present –
a gift that allows him to
blend with the crickets;
to be in the wind as it
undoes her hair
like the brushing of fingers
in secret places;
to ghost through the movements
that rattle her bracelets;
to softly vibrate
as the lines of her words
rush like drugs in his ear

These intimate moments,
recorded and revelled in,
slip across distance
and enter his life,
that, in time,
he may take her,
over and over,
dismantle her absence,
gently admire
and lie there beside her
when sitting alone,
not alone

Beautiful and sad. I love this poem. It has this surreal feeling to it that really draws me in. Nice imagery and nice work on this piece.
