Thanks to you.

This is a spur of the moment poem, I'm not sure I really like it. BUT - the message is very important to me, it's directed to a very good friend of mine, who is constantly there for me. Sometimes I feel like I don't return the favour well enough.

Sometimes,
When you're not around
I smile to myself.
Like, really smile.

Because,
Even though I'm not perfect
I know it doesn't matter.
You'll always be there.

Sometimes,
When you're not around
I pretend that we've grown old.
Like, really old.

Because,
When I think of final years
I think of sunrises and of porridge.
I think of you.

Sometimes,
When you're right by my side
I try to think of ways to
Tell you that I'm thankful.

Because,
Having you around
Makes me smile.
Like, really smile.

Personally I love that poem, and I am sure whoever it is directed to loves it and appreciates it so much.
