"Just me"

I dream of being loved for the daisy I am,
And not to be loved as a rose.
I will forever be what I am,
Not trying to be like something else.
I am a writer, not trying to be an author,
For I feel the same effects when someone reads my work.
I am a drawer, not trying to be an artist,
For I don't need my work displayed.
I am a joker, not trying to be a comedian,
I get my laughs where I can get them.
I am a person, like anyone else.
I want to be loved for me and not for what I can do.
I'm just a lonesome daisy,
Don't try to make me a rose.

Cute one. Everyone else wants to be the rose.
Don't understand the "drawer" bit, but the rest rocks.

Maybe it would work better if I put, drawer and painter.

Hey there. I too enjoyed your poem. I read "drawer" like dresser drawer. I think that is what happened to Psycho too.

The idea behind this is very good, it is good to be who you are. Enjoyed. Welcome to the Writing Forums!

I'm glad you enjoyed it. I've grown alot(as far as I can tell) since my first poems. I'm beginning to experiment more with my feelings and things.
