‘innocence’ is bliss [mj & the lost boys]

‘innocence’ is bliss!

little boy, come to my ranch
where treats hang from ev’ry branch
and there’s no laws to hold us back…
I’ll call you ‘son’—I’m just ‘Jack’

little boy, come in and play
with my toys all night and day
while I watch you having fun…
I’ll show you why I’m ‘The One’

little boy, come look at these
pictures of some lads at ease
with their bodies’ unclad state…
I’ll undress, we’ll meditate

little boy, come on my lap
so we can take a little nap
aided by a sip of wine…
I’ll lick your head, you lick mine

little boy, come sleep with me
and I will take no liberty
with you as we lie in bed…
I’ll just please myself, instead

it’s ok now, I’ve been tried,
condemned and nearly crucified
by busybodies who lost out…
come to bed, just let them pout!

Ah, same one as in the Lounge. I commented over there. Have you seen the one by Wayne? (psycho6

Nice one maia, I'm glad to see there are other people who like timely topical poetry.

yes, mark... i commented on wayne's and his post inspired me to post this in poetry section, as well as in the lounge...

wayne... as you can see, you're responsible for this being here... thanks for breaking trail!

i wrote it in my head while going to sleep last night, typed it up this morning...

as for timely topics, that's virtually all i do write about, as i'm a philosopher first and foremost... poetry and essays are merely the form in which i present my observations...

btw, the burke quote is one of my favorites... though i think your version is a bit different from his original... here's my addition to it, from a collection of quotes and their extrapolations that i call 'profundities':

Quote:
The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing. Edmund Burke

Nothing is impossible, until you quit… and nothing is possible, unless you start. maďa

All this said without one shred of evidence that money had anything to do with his acquittal. If anything, I think it was his money that inspired his accuser to accuse him.

i think you're missing the 'money' point, kane... it's that the rich can afford the best defense... not that they 'pay off' the jury or anything...

also, the rich are held to a different standard of morality than are the poor, sorry to say... that's just the skewed nature of human nature... it's wrong, of course, but a fact of life...

and i'm sure the boy who was dealing with his cancer, as well as being taken advantage of by a megastar wasn't thinking of money... his mother may have been, but that has nothing to do with what was done to the boy...

even some of the jurors admit he was probably abused... but the prosecution didn't have a good enough case and couldn't prove it...
