Too Many Skeletons

“We need more oil than Texas has.” Said George to Dick one day.
“Let’s send some troops to Baghdad and move Saddam out of the way.
I know that Condoleeza will do just what I say.
And if everything goes sour we can blame the C.I.A..”

“We’ll get Colin to tell the world that Baghdad’s a big threat,
And if Saddam will not back down we’ll make him sit and sweat.
We’ll get a coalition just like my daddy did.
And then we’ll go and find out where he’s got those “weapons” hid.”

“I’ll be the biggest hero since Mr. Lincoln’s day.
And I am really going to make old Saddam Hussein pay.
I know that he had nothing to do with nine-one-one,
But I can’t find Bin Laden so I’ve got to blame someone.”

“I thought we had them fooled; got re-elected just last fall,
I guess our closet had too many skeletons after all.
So move on over Satan and make up one big bed,
I’ll be down with my whole cabinet as soon as we’re all dead.”

Thanks, smalls, there must be a lot of Bushaholics in this forum, 'cause you're the only one to respond to this.

It is a puzzle how some work gets instant response & others just wander down the list.

I don't think it's a case of bushaholics; wouldn't they tend to respond? (pass a law against you or something? - grin)

You know my opinions on this subject, so you know I like this.

i just plain didn't see this one, kiddo... has a hint of gunga din about it in some way... not sure if that makes an apology due either you or kipling, but if so, consider one tendered

i love the punch line, but would you consider making it work better by changing 'make up some more beds' to 'make up another bed'?

hugs, maia

Thanks, Maia. I'll admit that would sound better, but is the "whole cabinet" going to sleep in one bed. (I know the cliche about "being in bed together") but that's ridiculous,LOL

i think it's kinda poetic justice... and it does bear out the 'being in bed together' bit...
