This is probably the stupidest question you have ever heard..
But what is a syllable? I kind of know..
And I used to know..
But now I forgot! lol
I am really dumb..
Heh..
So I need it explained very clearly
I haven't done poetry in yonks ya see!

Writing is great.
Writing about pugs is even greater.
But pugs are the best.
I'm not sure of the formal definition, but a syllable is one sound in a word. 'This is a test' has one less syllable than ex-am-in-a-tion.
So Haiku is 3 lines, 1st has 5 syllables, 2nd has 7, 3rd has 5 again. Not words, although there are many 1-syllable words.
'Contaminated' would be one (5 syllable) line of Haiku and so would 'I stand out at night'
