B4 i give any feedback, let me just say that my poetry skills aren't really that good.
I thought that it really showed how hard it can be to write something really perfect (believe me i know). My favorite line was, "I am a prisoner of myself"
But the ending "I am a writer" i thought was a great way to end it. Great job

You poor soul. Sounds like you've been sitting there so long you haven't eaten or slept for 3 days! we writers (or would-be writers) are just creative masochists. (grin) Who wouldn't have it any other way.
Like birth, (yes, I know I'm a guy, but I have ears & imagination) it seems ultimate pain, yet the afterglow when it's done keeps us coming back.
I read about a way to break the frustration cycle, which was to give yourself a day, a morning or even a couple of hours, where you just go & do something for the pleasure of it. Go to the beach, see a movie, go browse the 2nd-hand shop, whatever. Then return & resume.
Excellent work. I actually had need for a bathroom visit but your words caught me & I wound up kinda dancing on the spot as I read & re-read it. Even now, I feel my muse giving that silent scream, 'it's true, it's all true.'
Thanks for sharing this.

May I add my two cents??? Just kidding. I must say that i'm no expert in poetry or writing for that matter, but this was well it was VERY good. I like the line "I wonder if I should keep going?" I often ask myself if I should keep going or not.
Again, this was very good and would like to read more from you soon.

Who We Are...
Intensity seems fused into your blood like sap in a tree. In order to devote yourself to something, anything, totally, I don't think it can be any other way. I loved how you pointed out what some of the extremes can be; from hollowness to chaos to despair to confusion to self-doubt. My favorite part, though, is the insinuation that we are what we are, and no amount of pain can take us out of the fight provided that we're willing to come on with it. Very strong message, and I think you have a very interesting way of projecting what you're thinking and feeling. It's always nice to meet open people. Keep it up...
